To eliminate problems with paint peeling, we will remove
and reinstall all moldings, door handles, lights, and any other parts that can inhibit paint adhesion. The key to any process is a good foundation. Meticulous preparation in the
final repair of an automobile starts with the surface.
Rust, dents and dings must be corrected before applying the
new finish. No holes are drilled. Dents are pulled out and filed down to minimize use of body fillers. Rust must be
eliminated to prevent future problems with trapped occidation. In some cases, new panels must be installed or fabricated to repair damaged areas, then an epoxy primer is
quickly applied to inhibit the reformation of rust.

Once the primer is applied, then the final inspection of the bodywork can be
performed. This is the last opportunity to correct any discrepancies prior to the color coating of the metal. Next, three coats of paint are applied and inspected.
Once that is complete, the clear coat is applied in three layers to add depth.
The final step is to, by hand, wet sand the clearcoat to maximize smoothness and the depth of finish.

Restoration work combines all of the areas that have been previously discussed. However, the
time and level of the commitment, by both the owner and the restorer is greater. These projects can involve several months and a greater financial commitment to achieve the level of
detail comparable to a Concourse or "Show Car".
